Working together, to focus on what truly matters

Working with change-makers to reshape the world of work, business and society.

Welcome

I’m a coach, facilitator and change-maker. I’ve worked as a change-maker for 30 years now, in many different ways, and one question has been and remains my constant guide: What work truly matters now?

Do What Matters creates spaces and experiences for you or your team to reconnect to the heart of what matters and move forward with greater alignment between your reality, purpose and impact in the world.

My clients are leaders and everyday people who are working towards a better future including entrepreneurs, businesses, students, parents, schools, universities, civil society groups, charities & public service organisations.

I offer one-to-one coaching, retreats, workshops, courses and events, in person or online. I am based in Brighton UK, and work in French or English.

It all starts with a conversation.

Three questions to reshape our ways of living and working for a better future

How do we make meaning in these times?

Our modern ways of living and working no longer make sense and many of our social and economic systems are not working for everyone, least of all our planet. It’s hard to face up to the impact of our lives on other people’s lives and our planet. Once we find the courage to face into this reality, we can begin weaving more meaningful, nourishing and joyful ways of being and doing, even amidst all the conflicting narratives, uncertainties and pressures of everyday life.

To be a grown-up, it seems to me, is to live alert to consequences, to know the cost of your living. It’s hard to be a grown up in the world we have made
— Dougald Hine- At work in the ruins.

What does the world need now?

It’s hard to know how to make a meaningful difference and easy to burn out trying or lose hope. Yet new seeds of more regenerative, inter-connected, participatory ways of living, working and organising are being sown in pockets of communities and organisations around the world. The question is which seeds are you nurturing.

Humanity’s 21st century challenge is to meet the needs of all within the means of the planet.
— Kate Raworth, Doughnut Economics

Who do we chose to be?

Our purpose can’t to be ‘found’ somewhere outside of ourselves. It’s not a place to arrive at or a goal to be chased. It’s a pull from deep inside us towards what we ‘can’t not do’. It’s about finding the courage to align our actions with who we truly are. Our purpose emerges when we can connect to the knowing that resides deep inside us in response to the reality of the world outside.

We no longer have the luxury of defining our purpose in abstraction from the realities of the world around us.
— Margaret Wheatley, Who do we chose to be?
